So, my HDD just gave his last breath and I'm going to buy a new one, the problem is that my old notebook has a SATA 2 conection only. And the HDD I want to buy is SATA 3. (The one is Seagate St2000lm007)

So, can I put the SATA 3 HDD on a notebook that has a connection only to SATA 2?

Yes, the connection is exactly the same and the protocol is backwards-compatible, just like with PCIe 2.0 and 3.0, or USB 1.1 and 2.0.

Ok, I have another question. I'm going to buy a 2TB HDD, but the original HDD of my notebook is a 750GB HDD, will it work? I mean, it will be enough power to feed the new HDD?

Yes it will be fine.

Back in the day there were problems with going over 137GB, but these kinds of things aren't a thing anymore.
