Hey /wsr/g/,
today my 5-7 y/o Benq G2255 LCD monitor died.
I tried switching around DVI cables on my Nvidia GTX560 GPU ports, it doesn't change anything. (I have 2 monitors connected in total, the other is a newer Benq GL2250 with LED backlight as the primary monitor).
Windows 10 doesn't detect it.
When I attach it via VGA cable it to another computer with some Intel integrated graphics processor it just shows completely white screen, you can't open it's firmware menu, switch any modes or anything, buttons simply don't do anything. When it's connected to either computer with either VGA or DVI the activity indicator LED on the power button stays orange instead of green.
The LCD panel has somehow faded over years, but it still worked fine until now.
I first saw that it was turned off, I switch on the power button for a few seconds, then it started to blinking for a second and the panel turned off. Additional attempts to turn it on, switch cables etc resulted in lit, but completely black panel (maybe white, couldn't tell from the angle). Now the panel doesn't even turn on anymore on GTX560.
Is there any way I can fix this thing?
Pic related, it's my boi. He dead.

you're a squid now
I contacted a tech-savvy acquittance and he believes that it could likely be a dead capacitor. And there's no way I personally can fix it because it requires very careful soldering with specific tools. Oh well.
here's another squid.

It takes very specific parts and a little work, but its very straight-forward to do. Currently, all of my monitors have been through this repair, including a couple I got for free because they were "broken." You could learn to do it in an afternoon, or your friend would probably be happy to fix it for a few bucks, parts are less than $2 and labor is 0.5hr as long as nothing goes wrong.

In a couple days finna give it to someone who knows what he's doing.
