May seem odd, but the Bay12 Forums.
Bay12 is Dwarf fortress, but in the misc section people discuss other games a lot (which is more populated than the dwarf fortress related pages anyway)
Very friendly forum and you actually get banned for shitposting or rude comments.

Don't know how it is these days, but I always found The Escapist (escapistmagazine.com) to be a good place for discussion about vidya. I know, I know, it's associated with Jim Sterling and other shitty game "journalists", but once you look past that and actually go into the boards themselves, it's a really good place.

You can feel the people there are genuinely intelligent and are happy to keep a discussion with you if you have something good to discuss about. Plus, the mods being probably the most uptight motherfuckers on the planet, constantly banning users for shitposting, trolling, insulting etc. keeps the discussions on the level.
