So, I've seen a shit ton of anime and read an even greater shit ton of manga, but I'm completely in the dark when it comes to Visual Novels. Anybody got a list of entry-level VNs? I only read Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night so far.

I'm not much of a VN myself either, but I can recommend Steins;Gate at least. For other recommendations, check pic related as well as the visual novel general over on /vg/.

Katawa shoujo is the best entry level vn(in my opinion) easy to download and free, plus one of my all time favorite vn's

Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! series.
There's 4 parts translated currently. The original title above, S!, A-1 and A-2
It's has a massive range of characters and I found in incredibly enjoyable and fun

anything by key is good for entry level, though I've only played Planetarian, Rewrite, Little Busters, and Clannad. loved them all

Want to cry like a little bitch?
read the House in Fata Morgana
Chapter 1 is kind of mediocre and chapter 2 is kidna boring but once 2 ends the rest picks the fuck up

I'm a total nub with VNs.
Am I doing something wrong? I got this VN about cat girls and played it for about an hour but never once got to make any decisions. Does this sound right? I though you had to make decisions that shaped the future of the VN?
Hitting spacebar repeatedly for an hour gets pretty boring, desu.

it depends on the VN, some are "Kinetic Novels" which don't include any choices. some VNs don't have very many choices, some have many choices but only one ending that might change slightly. do you know the name of the VN you played?
