What are some anime with more classical orchestral soundtracks? Kind of like you have in Fullmetal Alchemist or Little Witch Academia.

Simoun's score is a mix of orchestra and synth and has a very 'old Europe' feel to it. There are a few contemporary-sounding tracks. Two soundtrack CDs were released and both are on torrents.

It includes this bit of pastoral perfection:

Kannazuki no Miko is all orchestral, but goddamn is some of it melancholy.

If you can find it, Sakura Wars (the tv show, not the games, dunno about the movie) has a very rich, bright, symphonic sound mixing European classical with Japanese traditional sounds. I can't find a single track from it on Youtube. If you want to try it I can put it on Mega.

Strawberry Panic is all orchestral but gets a little intense in spots.

I want to say Last Exile but it is aaalllll over the map with its instruments from track to track.

The Kenshin OVAs are quite what I would call classical but they've got woodwinds, strings, percussion and some synth. At least as depressing as Kannazuki no Miko.
