Hey guys, my
wife
recently bought a Lenovo G50 laptop from a pawn shop for causal use. However, it keeps saying the battery is unauthorized and it won't charge, despite it being a Lenovo battery. So far, Lenovo support and Google haven't been much help, except for the possibility of replacing it, which I'd like to avoid. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Oh whoops, guess spoilers don't work here.
clean the contacts and then give up and replace it. who buys a computer from a pawnshop, that's retarded

Thanks for your valuable input.
Sounds like you got a lemon.
Sucks, but you probably shouldn't have bought a used laptop somewhere that doesn't check/refurbish them.

A lemon?

A lemon in this context is something that appears working but actually has a serious fault the seller didn't want you to know about.

Ah well. At least they accept returns.

> At least they accept returns.
Hopefully, or they will turn around and say
>You broke this/stole the working battery and replaced it

Eh, had to return a lawnmower and they accepted it with no questions asked.

You bought it without testing it?
I have some magic beans that may interest you.
