Hello !
I need to have a single button that simulate a keyboard key (preferably a button looking like a big red mushroom). I tought about looking for an usb switch but can't find any that doesn't look like a piece of electronic piece...
So here :
Do I have to buy the usb switch and then find a way to create my button around it OR is there such a button already created for me to buy ?
just google "big red button usb" or something similar
>buy big red button
>open up a $5 keyboard
>hardwire big red button to key you want
>...
>PROFIT?

I already found empty buttons or red usb buttons that make things and blablabla, but that's not the problem here, I need a specific key to be simulated by one pression on the said button.

This. I also saw that it could be made by opening up an old gamepad as well.
But the thing is : How do I hardwire that ? Is there a website to teach such thing ? Cause I'm a complete noob.

There probably already exists a big red button that will press a specific key, but if there doesn't, your best bet of getting it all in one unit is taking a Staples easy button, getting an Arduino, then just wiring the button on the staples board to your Arduino.
Then go steal some code for a keyboard/joystick input and copypaste it in.

el cheapo keyboards rely on a membrane pressing some contact layers. see which pcb pins lead to the space contacts and hardwire those two pins to the two button
alternatively you can program an teensy (arduino) to simulate a keyboard and use an input pin to read the button click and simulate a keyboard click. using a crap keyboard is still cheaper for almost the same hassle level
