You monster.

>monster
Monster is actually a good option, maybe not as intense as other ones and with lots of character construction, but it's serious, intriguing and thrilling.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
code geass

I forgot the exact name but I'm sure /a/ or someone here can tell you but there was this thriller anime that came out winter of last year.
Some girl that's a genius kills her family in cold blood and claim someone else did it. She gets sent to live in some research facility or some shit and she ends up getting killed but there's no way anybody could get in or out of it. It's called Subete something naru or some shit. I can't remember but it was really intriguing and really kept me captivated.
There was also some other anime where this friend of a guy gets abducted and nobody knows what happens to her. He goes back in time somehow to when he was a kid and tries to solve the mystery of what happened to her and ends up getting cuck'd in the process...that one was amazing as well, actually I think they were both airing at the same time.

That second one sounds amazing. Bump

This was the first one I mentioned. It's REALLY fucking good but kinda gets wacky toward the middle-end but it isn't completely shit.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/31043/Boku_dake_ga_Inai_Machi
This is the 2nd anime I mentioned about the guy going back in time to save his female friend.
I promise as soon as you start watching them you'll end up binge watching, trust me.

try gundam, here's the current chart

A lot of people compare Code Geass to Death Note, if that's what you're looking for. It's more actiony.
>>287175
Not as good as people claimed it to be, but I did think Tenma was a pretty great protag. The problem with it was it literally adapted the manga panel to panel, so what worked in short chaptered bursts often overstayed its welcome in animated form.
>>287415
This on the other hand is easily my favourite show. The start is a bit so-so, but if you keep with it it really becomes addictive.
>>287415
there are 2 versions of this (1999 and 2011), which one should I watch?
>>287974
>2011
>>287982
is that a "watch 2011" or "2011? are you serious?"?
Have you tried Parasyte? (Kiseijuu)
>>287986
Watch 2011
>>287165
From the new world. You watch some kids grow up in a fucked up utopia. And shit hits the fan.
>>287415
I'd imagine because:
- it's shit
- UNKNOWN TO THE CHARACTERS, THIS INTRIGUING SITUATION WILL BE RESOLVED NEXT EPISODE AND HERE'S HOW
>>287986
They're both shit. The earlier one is more graphic, and some people say the direction is better, and the later one is longer, which means you get the forty-episode Chimera Ant story, where the narrator explains in excruciating detail things you already saw, worked out, or were just about to be shown about new characters that you don't care about anyway*. And then you get a disjointed wodge of episodes on the end, and then it suddenly stops because (just like the earlier one) they ran out of comic.
* inb4 "I totally did care": so you're a huge fan of koala-in-a-suit and missile-launcher-wolf are you?
