I bought this laptop and tried updating the graphics drivers, and now the display has just gone completely black. You can still hear programs running in the background. If I press the fn + 7 key it goes back to normal but that isn't a real solution. Now I've reset it and I get the Asus logo and it goes black before I can do anything.
Is there a soluton here or should I just return it?

sounds like your resolution might be too high.
restart the computer in Safe Mode and see if you can modify the resolution to something your laptop can handle!

That's not the problem.
I can't go into safe mode anyways, it just brings me to a black screen.

I updated my video driver a week ago and the new driver never set in until I actually uninstalled the old version and then reinstalled.
what is the function of fn+7?

Try entering the BIOS and safe boot that laptop. Uninstall your driver. using DDU.

I can enter the BIOs but entering safe mode brings me to the same black screen.
