I don't know what else to do with my shit PC, so any help

I tried simply deleting the updates too. I deleted all the recent updates until reaching KB4013429. This little fucker just gives me the error message "An error has occured. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled."

I try updating, but it stops at like 11% and says "Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later.

Error code: (0x80073712)"

I went on the windows library thing and manually downloaded the update in question. When I try to run it, it just says that it is already installed on my computer.

Would any of you be able to help me out? Even a point in the right direction would be appreciated. I spent over 7 hours on this shit and I'm getting sick of it. I need my computer this week and I am not in a position where I can buy a new one.

can you get it operational long enough to run a memory test? windows has one built into it, or you could go find a memtest bootable disk and run that.

Already tried wiping it and it simply refused to work. I don't know if there is any way I can downgrade to 7, I never delved too far into this stuff.

delete existing partitions

create/format new partition

drive is now ready for windows

All right, thanks for the guide. I'll keep this in mind if nothing else works, but I'll see if there is a slightly less drastic way to fix this

a failing HD can cause a lot of problems

reinstalling may not do anything if the drive has worn out, and the only fix is to replace it

Unless you're on Skylake, at which point:

- Installer can't read its own USB
- BIOS won't boot Windows because it's older than Secure Boot
- No USB drivers because it's older than USB3
- No network drivers because it's Windows 7
- Can't install drivers off USB because no USB drivers
