Hey /wsr/.
I was dreading the day Windows 10 would break on me again and that day has come. Today Windows installed an update without asking me a thing (I'm now on build 15048 - Windows 10 Education Evaluation copy) and start menu has stopped working ever since. I have no system backups apparently and already tried reinstalling Windows apps on Powershell to no avail.
Right now I'm trying sfc /scannow to see if that can save me.
Any help would be appreciated.

i had earlier with someones comp
hold ctrl-ctrl-del and sign out hold shift and press restart, this will take you to recovery mode
troubleshoot/advanced options/system restore
go back to the last restore point and press go/enter etc
even if it says failed restart and it should be fixed, do the updates again it should be fine
usually i'd say go into safe mode and run tweaking.com portable but this didnt work on this problem

erm, I tried that and I have no system restore points to pick from.
Have you checked if any drivers need updating? They sometimes break after an update.
