a while ago i asked for a website for subtitles similar to kitsunekko only for japanese films rather than anime, but no one knew of one.
so i decided to learn japanese so i can watch these movies. what's the best program to do this?
doesn't need to teach me kanji, but that'd be a nice addition.
i'm considering rosetta stone. has anyone used it before? any good?

there are japanese learning threads at both >>>/int/djt and >>>/jp/djt
they have a guide at https://djtguide.neocities.org/
Check out the daily japanese threads like >>274330 said. Most learning options focus on reading not just listening, and it'll do you good to learn the writing system since you'll be able to use the Japanese internet to find movies that way.
The program they are going to suggest to you is called Anki, it's used for memorization drills and is useful for bolstering your vocabulary.

If you ask anything there they will just tell you to read the guide, which you should since it will answer all your questions.
