Trying to make a icon for myself while keeping it 150x150 pixels.

yes. first, make the background completely solid red. then, take your duck-face, and color it completely black. then, position the black-duckfaces on top of the red-background to make it look like a red&black checkerboard, except each of the black parts are in the shape of a duckface, not squares.

Do you mean the orange bottom or the eyes, maybe the hat?
