The fuck is this. It's brand new, got it with my PC 1 month ago. Is the GPU just fucked entirely or is there something else going on? Will RMA do anything?

Try the onboard and see if it persists.

I answered in the /g/ thread. If it doesn't persist just RMA the card, this isn't rare or nvidia exclusive its just hardware comes memed sometime, thats why most parts have a long warranty.

In the otehr thread you mentioned your bf had a build with an amd gpu, do you think you could test the card in his pc to see if your tearing problems exist? If so then do it.

It wouldn't. The card won't damage anything it just seems to be broken, if the graphical issue persists on another machine it will guarantee its the card and not anything else.

If the issues do persist on his machine go rma the card.

The dGPU is likely defective. However, there is iGPU on 970 chipset motherboards? AFAIK only 780 chipset have IGP for AM3+. Checking the Gigabyte motherboard online also shows no Graphics out on the motherboard I/O.
