How come this series is so popular? I'd never heard of it until recently but it seems to be one of the biggest anime this season despite being a short? What's special about it? Genuinely curious. The manga seems to have quite good art at least. Was it a popular manga on this site even before it became an anime?

I gave an episode a try and it seems like a nice little show. Very clearly made for the blatantly self-inserting crowd with how conspicuously quiet the protagonist is, but it works well enough that I can see myself investing the mere hour or so that this will take. The girl is very cute.
