use pen tool on the pattern you want to replace.

I think you have to inverse the selection and then use copy to copy selection made.

create new layer and past the copy.

paste in your pattern between the layers.

I havent done PS in a long time so I dont know if you have to inverse, just try it and if it doesnt work skip that step.
