for the past couple of days a person (who signed her name as Mauren Bingham in one of her emails apparently) has been using my account to contact someone else about buying a house. she/him/it is having an ongoing conversation with someone else in my inbox that has nothing to do with me and it's freaking me out. i just changed my gmail password to something t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶i̶s̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶r̶e̶t̶a̶r̶d̶e̶d̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶o̶l̶d̶ ̶p̶a̶s̶s̶w̶o̶r̶d̶ more secure but is that not enough or do i have to do something else? or am i just screwed?

(im kinda confused tho, once i saw that the hacker signed one of her emails with her real name i thought that maybe the hacker is mistakenly using my account somehow, but the person the hacker is contacting has referred to the hacker with MY name and the hacker hasn't spoken as if thats a problem. There is also the chance that the name the hacker signed her email with is fake...)

my password WAS and obscureish-word repeated twice. (im 300% aware of how retarted that was,you dont have to tell me)

A long time ago, some German guy with the same firstname/lastname set my Gmail account to receive copies of all his emails. He had no control over my account whatsoever, he just happened to stupidly use my gmail without really understand what he was doing.
In unrelated cases, I also receive notifications when some random guy, with whom I share a name, decides to register somewhere. Once in a great while, I'll receive emails from people to wom he has mistakenly given my email address as his contact.
Is this what's going on?

Change your password one more time and enable two factor authentication this will need a code sent to phone to actually login to your account.

This is probably what happened to OP.
I've had something similar where my email was accidentally added to someone's website redirect email.
So someone sent an email to [email protected] and I would get a copy of that email, then I could see a conversation someone was having with this email. still good to change password tho
