My mouse has been acting really weird the past couple of days. Sometimes it scrolls the opposite direction, or even freaks out completely.

It's only 5 days old, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. Any advice?

What kind of mouse is it? Try looking up some reviews to see if people reported any weird things, sometimes it could just be a shitty mouse. I had a wireless Logitech mouse and I had gone through 2 of them within a year but apparently they were just junk.

It's a trust 17179. From the reviews I've read there weren't any big problems, though I did see one (out of fourty) claiming to have the same problem as I have now. Bought one anyway. Guess I got unlucky?

Possibly. You've probably already tried some of these things or the don't even apply to you but they have some FAQs and warranty info on their site. You're probably not looking for a replacement mouse since you just bought yours but I've been using a Azio USB Gaming Mouse (GM2400) with no problems, which is only $20 on Amazon if you want to have something for future reference.
