So my dad has horrible Wi Fi signal in his place. Is there anything here that could be blocking the signal?
He bought an expensive router, assumed that it was bad and now bought and even more expensive one. Despite this and having a 200mbps download speed the range of the wifi is absolutely horrible.
At this point i'm certain that something is preventing it from reaching a far range or interfering with the signal. Here's a pic of his setup (The Linksys is the router) is there anything here that could be the culprit?
Here's a far away view of his work station
Another angle from the side.
take it off the floor and put it up higher. higher the better.

is he not getting signal to his computer right beside it? Maybe the PC's wifi card is defective.
You could also check if it's something about the room that's affecting the signal, by connecting the router in another room if possible.
You can also try switching the wifi channel, follow these instructions http://www.howtogeek.com/197268/how-to-find-the-best-wi-fi-channel-for-your-router-on-any-operating-system/. There could be too much interference on the channel he is using.
he should try to remove anything metallic from the surroundings, like those drawers on the right, they seem metallic. Also make sure he doesn't have a microwave oven or another source of EM radaition nearby.

I lifted it above the ground onto the desk. I'll see how the signal is here. Thank you

He doesn't get wifi signal in most areas of the house on his phone. Also he switched from a Dish provider to pure streaming TV through an android box, which needs WiFi throughout the house.
