Code Geass is really good. Death Note, Hunter x Hunter 2011, Re:Zero. They're all top notch mainstream anime you would like if you enjoyed Fullmetal alchemist

I've seen Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Hunter x Hunter, and Ghost in the shell. I do like action oriented shows and maybe some lighthearted shows as well. I dislike shows like Fairy Tail though.

If you don't mind a really dark action show, Black Lagoon is amazing. It's been described as what would happen if Tarantino made anime. Also, it's one of only two series I can think of where the dub is better than the sub.

yes it's not that bad for someone new and it's very similar to death note at least for the shinigami stuff however it does get bored after they rukia's rescue arc.

One Punch Man is a pretty good anime for newcomers to the medium.

If you're into sports, Kuroko no Basket and Haikyuu are pretty good too. Note that Kuroko has a bit of superpowers in it but give it a try since it's actually pretty fun.

Seen One Punch Man. I've been meaning to check out Kuroko and Haikuu. I also have Gurren Lagann on my list
