Does anyone here knows where to reliably pirate japanese music? I'm having a hard time finding sites to download music from bands that are not popular in the west, most notably The Thrill (japanese jazz band) and Rocky Chack (J-Pop).

Are they on YouTube?
Look up tutorials for YouTube-DL if they are. --extract-audio --audio-format mp3 are notable flags.
If not, your best bet is NyaaTorrents.

I couldn't find them in either Youtube or Nyaa, even when looking for the names written in japanese.

I mean, I could find one song or another, but I'm after the whole discography.

If they're not on Nyaa or AB try What.
jpopsuki is a private tracker for asian music.
yorukaze is a ddl site for most asian music.
for recent releases, aichun.co

So, I tried searching for those two bands just to save your time
>jpopsuki
I don't have an account there, try asking around especially in asian forums or private tracker forums for invitation
>yorukaze
Only Rocky Chack's Spice and Wolf single is there
>aichun
No result.
Or, try for What.cd interview. It's a private tracker for music.

What CD could have what I need, but it'd be such an awful amount of work to get in when they would probably not have what I need anyway... Damn the healthy habits of the japanese music consumer market.

blogs are a safe bet if you don't have a private tracker. work on that googlefu

You'd be surprised. I've only found about Rocky Chack recently, but I've been looking intently for The Thrill for years, and only recently I've found an average quality version of the Blue Submarine Nº6 soundtrack, on a very suspicious site. No luck finding anything else, ever.

I can tell you right now I find almost anything and I rip a ton of JP music off blogs/websites. Add the bitrate after some releases and don't only use romaji.
If some generous anon could confirm either of those are on what.cd I'd give a shot at the interviews, but otherwise I'll just give up altogether.

Rocky Chack is spelled as is, and I didn't find nothin under The Thrill's jap name (ザ・スリル)
