Can anyone recommend me good books that are not that philosophical and deep.

Something adventure-like or even not. But has great "descriptions".

Descriptions meaning how the author describes the place, a character's feelings while talking, etc.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint you aficionados.

I'll be honest with you guys, I'm actually trying to write.

It just came up suddenly to me. Like "I want to write". So I started.

At first I just though, I'll write the dialogue first, worry about the description later. Then after I was finished with the dialogue, I tried writing the description, I suddenly went "oh shit, I don't know how to write it.

I have the idea in my head, how the place looks, how the interaction is happening, even the subtle movements of the characters and such. But I had no idea how to express it.

So, I realized that, I actually haven't read enough books. How not enough? I haven't even touched a single one in 9 years.

So I'm trying to enrich my vocabulary(?) to be able to lay down into writing what I think.

I wasn't expecting much from His Dark Materials but it's actually giving me already a lot of ideas and at least the descriptions don't go in too deep and it's fantasy-like.
