Looking for art programs (free or not, but if they aren't free, magnet links would be appreciated) that mimic actual art tools like acrylic and ink paints, (I don't use them IRL, too messy), oil/soft pastels, charcoal, etc.
Looking for some good programs to keep me entertained at college, there's a 2 hour period between 2 of my classes and this could help it go by more easily (and help me hone my art skills).
At my college, they had free programs like microsoft word and shit. Might be worth looking into seeing if they have art programs. Stuff like Paint Tool Sai, people make brushes for so if you look around, you could find some that mimic traditional media.
I tried getting into digital art myself and just couldn't. I like feeling the paint brush and getting watercolors all over my hands... Sure wish there was an undo button for when I fuck up and spill the water though...

Seconding Corel painter. I have not used it but supposedly it was designed to imitate traditional media.

Corel Painter is definitely one of the best options to go with, just because of the options.
For intuitiveness, ArtRage would be my second pick like in OP.
I use Krita, free, performs well and is great for painting
