So I just recently updated Windows 10, and the new update fucked with my start menu. Is there any way to take away the alphabetical directory of programs on the side?

Install a sane operating system (W7, OSX, or Linux)

I currently can't do that. Mind not being a dick?
I have the same issue as well. Apparently Microsoft changed the start menu based on feedback from testers.
There is currently no easy way to change it back like it was before the anniversary update. Just hope that they change it in the future.

Yeah, I got on customer support with Microsoft. No way to fix it. Apparently you have 10 days to go back to a previous build, though.
The update also makes the lock screen unable to play slideshows, so that's annoying too.
