Can I get an explanation?

For at least 3 months or so, half of my RAM was "put on reserve" and was unusable. I wrote it off as a bad RAM slot and was planning on replacing my motherboard eventually.

Today I noticed things loading up slightly faster and noticed it went back to normal.

What gives?

It could have just been a bad connection. Try taking your RAM out and them putting it back in securely.

I did this when I first discovered it and even switched the sticks just in case.
