While Nvidia is just catching up to modern fabrication, Intel is so far ahead of the curve that its mobile i7s clock in at 4/5 of the performance of the desktop i7-6700k, for only 45w TDP. This means you'll be able to buy a laptop, off the shelf, that has 90% of the performance of a high-end "battlestation".
