Hi /wsr/. I am finally selling my Macbook Air, and building a desktop PC. This does unfortunately mean that I will have no portable computer to take with me on the go (laptop). Would buying a chromebook be good for this? I'm not heavily into gaming. I will probably mostly be playing games like Civilization V, or Minecraft, some SNES emulators, etc. Is there another laptop (Linux, Windows, etc.) that would suit my needs better? Thanks!

I'd just like to clarify that this laptop would be used primarily for fairly light weight gaming on the go.
>>
guessing you have never used a chromebook
>>
a chromebook is basically a portable internet browser

i don't think you can game on them.

a cheap thinkpad is probably sufficient, but i have only ever used Dell laptops so some other anon will have to give better insight.

yep. I guess I won't use it then

any particular model you'd recommend?

no, sorry. to be honest, I just recommended it because I see many people recommend them when looking for cheap and good

i would just look at their models that are within a budget i'm willing to pay for

If you have the finances(500-800) off the top of my head I recommend...

Dell Inspiron 7559 FHD 8gb SSD amazing gaming capability

Asus Zenbook FHD (cant remember the specs, but its the newest model) more geared towards business but can handle fairly heavy gaming

or if you cant shell out too much money

Acer Aspire e15 256GB SSD pretty nice GPU
light, versatile, may not perform QUITE as well as the others but should be fine for the games you mentioned
