I was installing a new power supply in my desktop and i ran into an issue. My computer won't turn on using the power button anymore. I may have unplugged this cord and i have no idea what it is or how to install it. Help me out?
take a pic of your mother board

It's a ASUS P9X79 LE
no.10 in the pic.
Your power button is connected to two of the pins on the lower right side of your board. I marked the location on the picture.
The cord you pulled out likely connects your power button (and reset button, leds, internal beeping speeking) to these headers.
You have to plug it back onto the makred area.

What exactly do i have to do?
OP here
The plug I pictured is too big to connect to that bottom right area.
These are what are plugged in that area. Sorry about the quality, it's impossible to get a good picture inside.
>new power supply in my desktop
did you turn on the main switch on the back of the psu.

There is a plug already in the power slot. Look at >>170988
I have no idea where to put this cord. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I feel like everything is in place except the top part of my case isn't powered on. I think that cord powers it. This is the top of my case.

That's the first thing i tried. I'm not that dumb haha

There should be some way to access behind the power button, or to pry off part of the case to reconnect the power to the button.
Well, then read the manual for your case and figure it out.
Or at least post the name of the damn case.
Jesus fucking christ dude, people like you make me loose faith in our chances to ever colonize space.

did you plug it into the wall?
Frankly I'm astonished you had the courage to attempt this seeing as how you know so little about computers.
I can't imagine you had a shitty or weak PSU to begin with if you had such a nice Motherboard and CPU.

you sure you plugged this in.
