I recently bought GTAV yesterday on Steam and I left my PC running all night to let the game install, so when it finished installing, it notified me and I shut my PC off. This morning when I turned my PC on to play, it was taking longer than usual to start up. It was stuck on the loading screen and I had to manually shut my PC off and boot up in safe mode. A friend of mine said GTAV probably messed up my drivers, so I performed a system restore to yesterday's date (I installed a game yesterday afternoon before GTAV) and when the system restore finished, GTAV was uninstalled. My friend pointed out that GTAV could have been what was causing my PC to not start up properly. I'm relatively new to the Grand Theft Auto series, so if anyone could help me on this, I'd appreciate it! I really want to try out GTAV.
Bump.
Really guys?
From what I remember, it really doesn't take that long to install. Why not install it while you're awake, and make sure nothing goes wrong during the install?
Try that first and reboot. For safety's sake, do a cold boot, only open Steam, and install GTA 5.
Then get back to us on if the problem persists.

Really what? You're not entitled to an answer.

Could be the drivers. Based on what you're saying, it sounds like you don't know much about computers.
You need to install drivers for your computer to use the hardware that's in it. Graphics card drivers, audio drivers, etc.
If you have literally no drivers installed then what the fuck are you doing oh my god.
If for example, you don't have any graphics card drivers installed, the few games that will launch will run as if you had no graphics card in it at all, because the computer can't communicate with the hardware.
Also, this is a slow board. People help, there are just very few people on the board, and the few people that do visit, aren't online all at the same time. Hours between replies is normal.

No lol, I have drivers but I've never updated them. If I accidentally implied I didn't, then apologies. Should I just install the latest drivers off of AMD (since I have an AMD graphics card) and disable my current drivers and then GTAV would work?

Update to or install the latest drivers yes, that would be a good starting point. You shouldn't need to disable your current drivers to update..
>>170462
I thought you had to disable the previous drivers after you install new drivers, is that not true?
>>170467
I've never, ever had to do that. The installer should take care of whatever needs to be done.

Leaving old drivers can sometimes lead to problems. Some files might be left behind that can cause conflict, which is why tools like displaydriveruninstaller exist. It boots up in safe mode and uninstalls the old driver as clean as possible.
However, in 95% of cases it's fine to just install a new driver over the old one.

you're already being helped, but
you'll have more rapid responses if you make threads about porn sauce or recommending anime. No one is too keen to help on a technical problem almost definitely solvable with some basic googling and some effort on your part.

I didn't know if my installation of GTAV was corrupted or something which was causing my PC to turn on slower, but thanks.
