Hey /wsr/
I am looking for some anime recommendations for someone that's kind of snobby.
I mostly watch western shit like Twin Peaks, The Sopranos, The Wire, etc...
Looking for serious stuff or well made stuff.
I've enjoyed Legend of the galactic heroes, neon genesis, samurai champloo, gantz.
Don't recommend death note it's shit.
Any tips?
Mawaru Penguindrum
It has a lot of goofiness but the story that unravels throughout is serious and psychological. I feel that aspect as well done. As a bonus, the soundtrack is A+

Not all of these are 'serious' and about half of them include humour regularly, but they're all well made series in terms of writing, art, sound, characterisation etc.
I would recommend watching all of these plus any I missed in the infographic. You'll learn what you like and don't like quickly while still watching good series.
