Requesting a tech support , it since a few month (maybe?) this problem happen to me. my laptop is Lenovo Ideapad 100-i15by which runs on Windows 8.1
all systems worked normally until the wireless adapter is missing. i mean it was deleted. here's some images that shows the details recorded in event viewer.

i did disabled the power management setting that offs the adapter to conserve the battery and changes several adapter setting (bands, channel, magic button, etc..) but no avail. Now, the adapter still missing even i try reinstalling the driver itself withi the driver installer copy i have.
can anyone help me to resolve this?
Already format it & do a clean install Windows 8.1 but still couldn't resolve this problem.

Anyhoo, press fn-f2 and it'll come back. The airplane mode switch works by asking the SMC to physically disconnect the wireless adapters.
I know this, because I bought my Thinkpad a Bluetooth dongle, only to find another one already in the slot it was supposed to go.

How come? Is the problem persist after pressing fn-f2 ?
