You're talking about Exhentai, not E-hentai. They are different domains but hosted by the same owner. Exhentai contains material that advertisers do not approve of (loli, bestiality, scat etc) so they put up a retard barrier that keeps out the casual browsers but wont' really deter people that actually want that content. Exhentai has zero ads by the way. It's operated at cost by Tenboro, supported by the revenue from the main E-hentai site and donations from users.

Getting past the retard barrier is actually much, much simpler than those instructions make it seem, but if you were able to do it the proper way you wouldn't be having issues. I've found people who struggle with it invariably are just really, really bad at following directions.

Also, E-hentai fully complies with any DMCA notices they receive, but they don't actually receive that many due to a huge chunk of their material being fan doujinshi, meaning they are already copyright infringements just by existing and the authors have no legal recourse against people pirating their work. They continually modify the site to make it more difficult for extension users by the way. Because it's not meant to be bypassed with an extension. All you have to do is clear your cookies, log into e-hentai, then go to exhentai. Works nearly every time for me. I've had to in the past follow steps like >>164261 but most of the time just logging in then going to exhentai after clearing cookies works.
