I really don't thing you're going to be able to get an android emulator running on your hardware. If your still running Vista, I have a feeling your hardware isn't good enough to push the emulationa on top of vista. It needs more horsepower than you would think.

What you might give a shot is Android-x86. Its a bootable version of stock android that has been built from source to x86 archetecture, aka computers.

Downside of Android-x86 is its a bit technical and doesn't walk you through very much, but it does have a live CD option where you can test it out, but if you go to install it you can easily wipe out your hard drive partitions as the install procedure for it doesn't provide for dual booting and you have to be a bit of a linux tech person to figure out how to do it without wiping out your windows partition and/or linux partitions.

Also, never had any luck getting Android-x86 to work in a virtual machine for shit, which would have been the best option.

I haven't tested this out so I can't vouch for it or tell you have easy or difficult it is or if you need technical know how to get it working. Might be worth checking out though, looks like they even have youtube video walkthroughs.
