Hi all-
I'm having an issue with my home-built PC. When I hit the power button, nothing happens...sometimes. If I unplug and leave it overnight, however, it boots up perfectly fine the next morning.
Things I've tried:
Replacing the PSU - nothing
Removing everything save the PSU and mobo - nothing
Replacing the power cord - nothing
Trying a different outlet - nothing
Resetting the CMOS - nothing
Booting from the power button on mobo - nothing
I'm starting to wonder if there's a ghost in the machine. Am I looking at another mobo here?
Thanks in advance everyone.

it says specifically in the board rules this board is for tech support requests.../g/ directed me here.

Your PSU is not providing enough +5VSB, or your SMC has crashed.
The former can br fixed by getting a better PSU or ameliorated by turning off wake-on-LAN, wake-on-USB, etc.
The latter might be fixed in a BIOS update.

Ok so I need a better PSU? I just ordered a 1300W unit. Think that'll do the trick?

btw current psu is 1050W evga - maybe it's crapping out
could be a fucked capacitor on your mobo
very niche scenario but hey

I understand that. Is a better power supply the solution then?
