OP here. Just to be clear, you say the SSD is pointless because it is added expenditure or because it literally cannot fit in the case? Does a case have to be full rather than 'micro atx' or whatever to fit two internal storage devices?

Sorry guys, I was just very lazy. I did the research. The case >>15913 suggested can accommodate two 3.5'' and one 2.5'' storage devices

Ditch the SSD and add RAM. A solid state disk is not needed in a midrange build, and 4gb of ram will barely run anything these days on a windows PC.
