I want something like pic related. Would that be too much work? If that can't be done easilly then at least someone cut a square so only the medal is shown. Or teach me how to so I'd do it myself.

Not skilled enough to do it, but I just want to clearly if you want to gym badge to still be a gif or a static image.

yeah, no. that's 80 individual frames on that gif you'd need to manually clean up.

but more than that, it bugs me that it doesn't rotate perfectly. it moves 3px to the right :-/

Yeah, that's what I saw, so I thought there was any way.
But thank you anon, that will be enought.
Now I nned the other 7
If anyone is bored http://imgur.com/a/O2wza
But, as I see, I'll try to do it myself, I'll watch any shitty youtube video to learn how to cut a gif or consecutive frame of a gif.

well, gif is a pixel perfect format so there are no compression artefacts like in jpg. the easiest way is probably to do a very narrow colour select (ideally just a single hue) wile adding to the selection (probably: hold shift) and clicking on the individual background colours. since there is green on the medal itself, you might have to manually deselect a pixel or two, then delete the selection and move to the next frame. i can see it being not more than a ~10s workflow per frame, especially on the back side. maybe there's even a way to do a macro select of the 8-12 relevant background hues? probably depends on the tool you're using.

the thing is - the creator of the animation probably has a transparent version...

the square cutting is easy. GIMP puts the frames in as layers, so you just need to crop the image and it applies to all layers; you'll be done in 5s.
