My aunt accidentally shot one of my nieces when she was twirling a gun around on her finger. The bullet went down through the upper part of her mouth, through her top front teeth and into her lower jaw then veered off into the wall. If it had been even a little more to either side, it would have suppoedly just gone directly down into her chest and probably been deadly. She had to have her jaw fixed shut for a few months, and has a little plate of false front top and bottom teeth, but shes totally recovered now. It's also kind of crazy, but it's not actually a crime to shoot someone like this, for my aunt, since she wasn't drunk or on drugs and she legally owned the gun. It's actually kind of a family joke that people just all laugh about together.

My grandmother was attacked by a shoal of squid when she was little. She was swimming in a place where people sometimes dive for clams, and for some reason this large group of squids were all gathered there and attacked her and her friend. It wasn't really like that webm though. The sucker part on their arms pulls hard enough to tear skin and they have sharp biting beaks. Only smaller squid will come close to the shore, fortunately. So, even though it was obvious scary and painful, she only ended up having all the toes except the big toe on her left foot bitten off. She had these really odd ring shaped scars all along her legs and hips that were still there, like faint little circles of rough skin even when she was old. And she liked telling the story any time she could.

You're right, 50 years ago it was competitive, but there's a reason you and I are using past tense; that time is over. The market has changed. 'Why make money when you could make more money?' type of thing. Traditional animation might make money, but CG+Traditional will make a the same with less expenditure. I'm sure you already know all that.

Keep demanding it, though, and maybe it'll happen. It's the only way it will ever happen, actually. Free market and all that jazz. I'd love to see it but I just don't expect it to happen.

Point being, traditional animation, regardless of budget restraints brings a lot of freedom as a creative platform. While CG misleadingly does nothing for the medium, even if it's virtually limitless.

Still, you're right, if they took advantage of the full spectrum of CG, and didn't clumsily use it as a cheap method of animation (see: out of place cg backgrouds, RWBY, expelled from paradise.) We could get some really nice works out of it. Not that the same isn't possible with traditional methods.
