they're certainly titles the movie goes by, but i'm not so sure they're all acceptable...

"the man from nowhere" is just some made-up line, remeniscent of a cheesy western title, instead of a proper translation. i'm getting really sick of translated titles completely changing the idea and mood of a title.

one of the worst offenders is probably Dalkomhan insaeng (달콤한 인생) which literally translates to "(the) Sweet Life", but the English title is "A Bittersweet Life", completely and utterly missing the irony of the original title and instead giving away the twist/message of the movie.

it's not limited to asian languages... La vie d'Adèle = "Blue is the warmest Color". wtf? what does that even mean? Nattvardsgästerna = "Winter Light" instead of something like "churchgoer", which is actually a really smart title that packs a punch given the contents of the movie.

but it's not only English translations that drop the ball in this regard. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind has some foreign titles basically amounting to "Don't forget me!". yeah, thanks for spoiling the movie before it has even started...
