He also said Libya was the only thing stopping niggers from flooding europe.

He constantly just told the truth and that made so many politicians mad.

Bashar was really laughing at how unskilled of a political operator gadaffi was, he knows you can't just tell the truth just lay it all out or you'll just get bumped to the top of the list, so now he is dead. Assad is clever, he isn't getting a knife shoved up his ass by an mossad backed mob.

Also, it would be reasonable to assume his seizures and death were a result of the tumor(s), but to imply that his psychonautic endeavors were causally related is a stretch.

when ffmpeg crashes it's usually because it's using too many threads, just type in -threads and half the amount of threads present in your cpu

if you want to merge audio i suggest using:
ffmpeg -i video.file -i audio.file -strict experimental output.file

use -c:v copy and -c:a libvorbis if something goes wrong

What's the song? Someone here can do it.
amateur video editing is a life of suffering. That first webm was a bitch to make. The video from youtube has an audio file that 4chan thinks has an embedded file. I had to rip the audio and amplify it down in audacity, then remake the video with the new audio, then convert to webm.

tried a bunch of times with different combinations of filetypes and with "-strict experimental" I get the song on top of the video, but I would like the original audio as well.

What does it even mean - "expansion of mind"? Mind doesn't have such characteristics such as length or depth, mind doesn't need to be expanded or deepened. Actually it should be gradually cleaned, and for such purpose drugs are not just useless - they are harmful. The human body can produce all necessary chemistry by itself.

The fact that you're not just wrong but an idiot, Irks me. Drugs of many shape and forms are not only beneficial but necessary to sustain most peoples lives past a certain point, did you have grandparents? thank drugs for the time you got with them. Do you have any persons with mental illnesses in your family? thank drugs for allowing them to function in some kind of approximation of normality and to be a part of society and not something to be locked and hidden away. Drugs pick up where the human body fails, if you're talking recreational, some recreational drugs are beneficial in many ways and are often used in medical treatment.

Nietzsche was more eloquent on this subject with his theory of untermensch and ubermensch behavior
Nietzsche's main goal was to influence mankind to be happy, that you couldn't be truly happy if you take drugs alcohol and follow religion blindly, because those things only help dull the pain of reality and drag you down into a never ending cycle of depression.

any way, on the subject of untermensch and ubermensch, Nietzsche discovered that during the medieval ages the language was being twisted so that words that describe different social statuses had started to take bad connotations.
it was mainly the poor that used this to make the upperclass seem evil and corrupt and the lower class to be good and honest.
what Nietzsche meant with this was that they became slaves to their own language, and those who would finally be able to rid themselves of this behavior were to be called ubermensch

this was of course twisted by his ex-wife and her anti-semite husband following his death, who he hated dearly
>>

Not him, but the goal is essentially to generate a s sense of cohesion, and to make sure that there are no neurological pathways that have been simply abandoned. That way, there is nothing latent within the psyche, only what's immediate, and, assuming all previous mental ground has been tread, we can respond to the immediacy of our surroundings with levelheadedness and efficiency.

Whatever your opinions on LSD may be, it helped a lot of people scan their brainwaves for bad ideas, so that when they went off to Vietnam and saw immeasurable tragedy, they had the ability to reason through it, and not experience mental breakage.

What doesn't kill may make you stronger, but what breaks you still weakens you.

In terms of charity, those with less adversity tend to be more generous, and those with great amounts of adversity tend to be socially maladjusted as a result...

...But as to whether those who experience great adversity are more aware and complete, while those who experience none are naive and shallow, that's another question.

Though I think the Angsty-N's point was more that a philosophy of aversion to adversity, at all costs, be it cultural or individual, is simply not living life to its fullest, and merely running the hedonistic treadmill with no destination.

The whole "natural law" thing is pure idealistic religious bullshit. People have committed atrocities and felt as if it were a "natural" or "normal" thing to do.

This kind of reasoning is why people theorize we developed empathy, or the logical capability to sit there and think "well, i don't want to die.. if I kill this guy, i'd be doing to him exactly what I don't want to happen to me, therefore I wont kill him". I've read a study (although not science based, mind you.. grain of salt and all that) explaining that empathy is the most intelligent emotion for this reason, and is significantly responsible for human evolution.

The whole talk is great. It starts out with him outlining his theory that the human brain developed with the aid of psychedelic mushrooms on the African plains. More broadly, he thinks that technology and drugs need to evolve together in order to foster a healthy culture of the future. It has been said that McKenna's gift for gab made his ideas sound better than they really were. He's really more like a really smart poet that had a hypnotic voice, than a credible thinker. Still he is worth listening to in order to learn from his odd charisma.

>we have a limited few possible intellectual structures

I think the premise of this whole video is wrong. We temporarily have these limitations. It will through the use of technology what we will eventually remove these limits. The same way we didn't see anything except for the visible spectrum, and now we see everything; in that way we shall see (and eventually understand) more still.

>of course, it will follow that society should maximize the possibility for this to be realized; that means trying to overcome the elements of repression, and oppression and destruction and coercion..

oh good - I was wondering where his morality schtick will pop up.

>...now a federated, decentralized, system of free-associations incorporating economic & social institutions is the appropriate form of social organization for an advanced technological society where people do not have to be forced into position of tools, of cogs, in a machine.

This is literally the basis for free-market economics. A decentralized free market system of free-associating groups/companies. Yet it is with this system he most has problems with because he claims (not in this video, but in others) and people are MOST considered just cogs in a machine rather than people. I would claim that this only happens because the government (at the behest of social advocates like Chomsky) gives advantages to companies and hands out restrictions to economic fields that ALWAYS ends up as virtual monopolies for companies that can take advantage. It's like taking a basic machine that hardly ever breaks and replacing it with a delicate machine with a lot of little parts that can easily break. You can always find a moral reason for putting in another little parts - and have the best of intention for doing so, but it's still a terrible idea.
>>
>>1785353

Literally all bullshit. The whole premise of this video is that technology = robot. He's trying to conflate any machine running code with Artificial Intelligence. We don't have artificial intelligence, so there's no fear of the first law being violated. Your phone doesn't 'think', it doesn't know how to think - it can only compute. Enormous difference there.

>>
>>1804195
He's just using enlightenment concepts of natural limitation to frame the conversation because foucault and other post-modern cunts play super loosely with criticizing truth and logic and the rest. Plus, its sort of irrelevant whether or not we can adjust the way our minds can interpret data, the fact is that limitation and boundaries are essential features of any system of logic as far as we know. Suggesting it may not be is sort of an unfalisfiable prediction.

Plus, Chomsky was advocating against free market zealots at a time when its most popular advocates were propping up a corporatist statist version of "free-markets" which really just meant, capital investment takes the biggest rewards, unions are fucked over, and the risk falls largely on the public. Neoliberalism served largely as an excuse to cut down regulations that hurt investors, and ignore the legal privileges they enjoyed.

there's only so much they can do if you end up being smarter than your parents, which is pretty common if they're this paranoid about surveling you, in the end you keep on cracking all the stuff they throw at you and they just end up taking it away, with me it was the the computer, they'd take away the monitor and ethernet cable when they didn't want me using it, helped me learning how to make a computer usable without internet though so it wasn't all bad.
>>
>>1822616
>there's only so much they can do if you end up being smarter than your parents
>in the end you keep on cracking all the stuff they throw at you
Yeah, that's always relieving to be reminded of. But then it still bothers me when they take it away so you can't go where they don't want you to go. It's just that kids can miss out on things that could really become good experiences in the long run that their parents kept them from seeing due to paranoia.
I understand it's a bad idea for a kid to start going into deeper tier stuff they don't yet understand and soon getting into serious trouble, but keeping them in an air-tight bubble of safety where they are always watched and restricted regarding where they can go isn't much better in my opinion. I dunno, there's more than one way to look at this, I guess. Still unsettles me, though.

Hey, you may have been able to handle the internet, but a lot of kids are dumb as bricks and will end up joining Isis or a cult. Seriously be glad that you are somewhat smart.

>>
>>1823786

I remember being a kid when I first played MGS2. This part of the game legitimately terrified the fuck out of me.

It's a good presentation of a completely inflated hysteria.

I somehow think future historians will know to ignore everything on 4chan, just as past ones have known to ignore everything in People magazine and The Sun. It's not like they haven't always had to make value judgements among such endless piles of information - Marquis De Sade's margin scribbles and the bible's worth of graffiti in Roman ruins aren't exactly held on par with the Magna Carta. "Be nice, but be the best" is a mantra that far predates the digital and even the Christian age. Informational natural selection overtook the genetic variant of it ages ago, true, but it isn't exactly slowing or stagnating as a result of it's ever more mind boggling volume - if anything, it's moving a little too quickly for our genetics to keep up.

Still, makes for a nice nuanced villain over what you'd get in most games and movies, I suppose.

Saved for the next time someone tries to tell me, "Buddhism is the religion of peace and acceptance." People are people, if they feel they are getting pissed on they get pissy, doesn't matter what god they follow or flag they are under, just provides a different set of potential motivators.

Not that it doesn't occasionally get to the point where you've no choice but to put the mad dogs down.

He's not off in the least. These first 25 years of a globally connected world will be inconsequential to the end result. The internet is simply the foundation for many more protocols which will entirely eradicate the need for intermediaries and trust. The great battle of the 21st century will be open protocols and information vs. the walled gardens of mega entities like Google, Amazon, Apple etc.

Open protocols will win because centralized entities will never be able to compete, and will have no means of stopping them, as they are decentralized in nature.

The issue isn't really that parents spy on their kids desu, it's that if parents can have this amount of control, what the hell do you think the government can do?
