I've actually been replaying Windwaker for the first time since highschool recently! My gamecude tore up a LONG time ago, but i have been using the Dolphin emulator and a gaming PC. I miss games that were fun. Now a days developers just want to make games that are hard, or good with for multiplayer. I miss good, LIGHT HEARTED, single player games like Wind Waker, LttP, and old school pokemon. I feel that we have lost that 'charm'

To use the same answer as to why you can't remember the soundtracks from Marvel movies:

Everything is playing it safe nowadays. Longstanding series are just using iterations of past music, new series are using generic sounding stuff so as to not be said as having a bad soundtrack. Basically, games are being made with the intention of making money, and the gauge of what music is good depends largely on who plays it, so you keep pumping out the same bland music that sold successfully before.

Now, this doesn't mean all games do this. Many titles have been either trying to make throwbacks to old games, or are focused more on the overall experience instead of a fast paced game. As much as people rag on Undertale, the soundtrack was honestly one of the more varied and interesting from 2015. It's the only reason I bought the game(and then only when it was on sale for a dollar). There are a few other examples, but I can't be assed to try and scrounge them up.

Put simply, modern vidya music just isn't as hype, generally speaking. There were maybe 3 new tracks in Pokemon Sun, Pokemon of course being ome of the most fun and memorable stuff, LoZ just reused all the same tracks its been using since the 90's, and even the last "metroid" game released was really kind of on the weak side, soundtrack wise.

This song and the Forest Interlude make me extremely nostalgic, sometimes to the point that I get teary-eyed. I think about my childhood and how innocent I was. I think about the prime of my family. The youth that my my mom and my sisters had. The love that I had for my dad when he put up with so much of my bullshit as a kid. It makes me think how much easier I had it as a kid.
