Hey, /g/ here. Recently I needed a small project so I wrote a server that plays random webms from this board infinitely.
http://boomer.archdev.org/
This thread is for random webms.
>>1337266
did he died
>>1337259
I just recently updated it to random more gooder. Basically before it would be less likely to play webms in large threads. Now it should weight all webms the same.
>>1337259
Have you considered setting this up as a standalone program that can play through a single targeted thread? Would be a great thing for ygyl/ycgl threads.
>>1337259
>>1337294
As a standalone program? No. If you're a bit technically minded the source code is over here:
https://github.com/Booom3/Random-Wsg-Webm
I considered an option to play through a thread, but it would require a bit more work so maybe later though no guarantees.
>>1337302
That would do just as good too. 'Fraid I'm not too adept at coding. html is about all I can handle.
>>1337305
I'll give it some more thought, I'd like to have it too.
>>1337334
Thanks for considering it. Have a drugged HAL
Goodnight.
Hello fellow /g/ anon
Good morning.
>>1337783
Hey.
>>1337305
html is not even code, is markup
btw awesome website
>>1337275
eternal bleeding
>>1337259
Good website but the webm's look like shit when upscaled to the monitor res.
Now it has a thread filter! Just throw in a thread link and it will only show webms from that thread.
>>1337259
Can you give it a different background color?
Black or even a neutral grey (like imgur and picture processing applications use) would be great but even 4chan's blue would be better than the bright white it has now.
I updated the server. Now you can play an entire thread in order. Just put in a link in the thread filter, disable shuffle, and hit apply.
>>1338438
I gave it the 4chan baby blue now.
i been watching it for an hour now, I think it's great
but you should have the webms play at their native size instead of having it fit to screen, like it is on here.
>>1338507
Thanks! The problem with native size is that the video controls go all over the place which is pretty annoying. You can just run the site in a new window and resize that to any size you want.
>>1338509
no. fix it.
>>1338513
JESUS FUCKING DAMN IT! THE TITLE LIES!!! FUCK THAT NOISE, AND FUCK IT WITH A 10-FOOT POLE!
Another update. Now you can send links. So for example here's the synthwave thread:
http://boomer.archdev.org/?threadFilter=aHR0cDovL2JvYXJkcy40Y2hhbi5vcmcvd3NnL3RocmVhZC8xMzEzNTkx&shuffle=false
any plan to make a /gif/ version?
>>1338539
This is fucking dope OP. Good job
>>1339599
Maybe, but I'd need a good idea on how to display them. Their duration is too short for one at a time like this.
>>1338405
doing god's work son
>>1337259
i forked your code and made it point to /gif/, and make it run in heroku. hope u dont mind
>>1340132
Of course I don't mind. Good job.
Put out a few more updates that should make the site behave better with back/forward and make it more compatible with stuff like phones.
Main new feature is you can now swipe left to skip. Works on both desktop and mobile.
Good morning /wsg/.
>>1337259
A minor bug: clicking the previous (<) link replaces the whole page with the previous webm instead of playing it in-page. This holds true for all 3 links.
>>1341472
Not a bug, just a feature I haven't included yet.
would be nice if you could adjust webm size to fit the screen without being too big as to have to scroll or zoom out to see the whole thing
maybe if it's above 720p just resize it smaller
>>1341492
It already does that just not on Firefox (or IE/Edge but you're not one of those people right) for some unknown reason. CSS is as fun as pulling nails so I didn't want to get in there and fix it yet. I even had someone who is much better than me at it take a look and he couldn't find a quick solution.
I wish I had more webms to post but the ones I got are too big for 4chan.
Good morning /wsg/.
>>1338539
This is exactly what I was hoping for. You are a god among men.
i had the exact same idea a few months ago, i just made it for me and my friends. great idea with the thread filter!

OP here. Your site looks a whole lot better.
Here's the Vaporwave thread.
http://boomer.archdev.org/?threadFilter=aHR0cDovL2JvYXJkcy40Y2hhbi5vcmcvd3NnL3RocmVhZC8xMzMzMzAx&shuffle=false
Goodnight.
Need more dank maymays.
thanks, anon!
>>1346948
You're welcome! You can repay me in memes.
>>1337259
>webms that play infinitely
Omf OP are you retarded? Webms already do that in most browsers.
>>1351700
Implication being that it will play a new random webm upon the previous one ending, which it does. Can be easily confirmed by visiting the site yourself!
As my sleep deprived work starts, so do the memes. Send me memes so that I may function, I use them for fuel.

markup is code though, you're still using arguments and reserved symbols forming instructions to be followed
it just lacks the complexity and flexiblity that makes other types of language so fun, useful and great to study
>>1374219
>markup is code though
no
>>1340132
link?
>>1337259
Sauce please? I'm learning programming and would like to see your code if you don't mind. TY.

>>1374219
Ok. Using only HTML, please provide the answer to 2 + 2. Bonus credit if you use only XML.
>>1337294
It looks like it already provides that functionality, though. Just paste the URL for your desired thread in the thread filter box.
some bumps i made for my friends synctube
>>1337259
Looking pretty dope, the "Filter thread"-Function doesnt seem to work doe...
Also, the whole navigation shit could be hidden and just shown when you move your mouse
>>1382908
It actually does, you just need to post the full url, not just the number
>>1382910
Yes, this. Technically it will work if you put a "thread/" in front of the thread number though. Because it's just a server side regex checking for a string of numbers after the "thread/" in the url.
>>1337302

It happened. Donald Trump got memed into presidency.
>>1337259
Hey anon, I like this. If you're still around, may I suggest adding a checkbox/option for looping? And if so, maybe a fields/dropdowns for how many loops, and especially for "only loop if duration is less than ## sec," since looping a 4 minute webm would be pretty annoying. Loops are a pretty integral function to many webms, so it seems like it'd be useful.
I have no idea if that's difficult to implement though.
>>1390715
As much as I like this idea, there's a lot more to it than just adding new features. The technical side should be pretty easy and not take very long, but then I'd have to make a decent menu for it. And since the menu is already crowded, I might have to redo the entire menu. Which would be a pain since I hate frontend work.
So, no. Not right now. Besides, playing through a single thread, while it is a very nice feature, is rarely used as it is. Sometimes more options isn't the right choice.
