This kind of situational absurdity is present in all of his shows. Even the rather serious Shirobako had this completely over the top finale. Mizushima loves walking the line between serious plot and silly comedy.

That mistake in particular however goes against the "bad indie horror movie" style the rest of the show is going for as it’s clearly an animation mistake, and not a mistake of badly waving a camera around without knowing what the fuck you’re supposed to do. I don’t think it was done on purpose, at most it was something that got noticed but was decided as not worthy of fixing because of the show’s nature. But after the line about the the shows’s sales this week, who the hell knows.

That’s pure bullshit. Shows of the past only seem better because no one remembers the bad ones. Try watching the first episodes of shows from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Oftentimes more isn’t even subbed because the shows are just so bad and no one wants to watch them.

The industry is currently pumping out more shows than ever before, so obviously there’s going to be more garbage too, but there’s also a lot more good shows than a few decades ago.
