Can we talk about minimalism?

I mean stuff like cross-hatching, tiling wallpapers--stuff whose impact exceed the resources that it requires. Not stylized vectors of anime girls--not that there's anything wrong with that.

I know that nowadays, stuff like memory isn't exactly the most pertinent thing when choosing a wm + decoration, but I'm a sucker for stuff that's efficient, even when it comes to something as un-utilitarian as aesthetics.
