Eh, he linked a lot of old outdated stuff anyway, although one of them did link to my skype (the twitter one), so I ended up deleting my skype account. And he also used a pretty old photo of me. It was pretty weird though, I wasn't a fan. And I prefer chrome for its ease of use and it works better with YouTube and Netflix (Netflix doesn't work at all on Firefox on Linux), and what do you mean the bar not transparent? The top bar? I prefer it transparent compared to the weird black.

I've installed gentoo in a VM before, but the main reason I chose ubuntu was so I didn't have to risk deleting EUFI partition and bricking my system.

Visual Styles are what Windows uses to style window elements (Captions Buttons, Window Fonts, Titlebars, Borders, Taskbars, etc.). If you're just getting started I would not recommend using cygwin at all.

Hi guys, I just got a trash desktop all-in-one from work, and it barely runs Windows 10. I thought I might set it up with some linux distro or some silly billy thing like that. Is gentoo a /g/ meme or is it actually a good distro?
Currently I'm on arch and I'm thinking of wiping and starting over on gentoo, is this a good idea?

No I am. it's good and was a great learning experience installing it.

The first reason I want to change is that I fucked up the partitions on the install and I realised this quite a while after I installed. So I reckon this would be a good opportunity to start over - so why not a new distro?
Second reason is that I want to get into other distros other than arch (idk, I'm curious I suppose).
Third reason is that RMS is our lord and saviour - anything he creates must be used by everyone.
