Is there a way to make openbox ignore tint2 so I can make maximized windows go 1 pixel below it to cover the border?

The laptop itself was $619.99, and the 250gb Samsung 850 EVO was $88. It was a max spec model, 1080p screen, and it's refurbished. It is also a quadro 2000m, not 1000m (guessing a typo). Also came with a new charger. Also it had good packaging. I also upgraded the ram from 8gb to 12gb using another ram stick I had laying around from my laptop that I replaced cause it broke.

Portage mainly. I like it more than Ports for BSD. Everything is optimized from source so the performance is a lot better.

Actually on second thought, if Ubuntu's switched to the 0.9 series then that might be it. I think that the blur plugin was broken from the transition to something, EGL maybe. Whatever it was they overhauled in 0.9, it broke blurring and most of their other plugins. I'm using Compiz Reloaded, which is a fork of the 0.8 release that still has all those plugins.

What's the Freely Transformable Windows plugin do? Sounds interesting, but it looks like 0.8 doesn't have it.

The free transform plugin is horseshit. Messes all the windows up rendering it nearly unusable. Really not sure why that's there but not the awesome blur stuff. Blur works on kwin and compton and whatnot, but I just prefer the unity environment.

Maybe that's just part of the Unity plugin (Unity is still just implemented as a compiz plugin right?) that they for some reason decided not to separate from the rest of Unity.

Eh I don't care too much about it I guess, and yeah the Unity plugin is its own separate entity, and I don't really want to mess with changing compiz as I heard it doesn't play nice with newer versions. But I can't complain much because performance is much better on this laptop for things like compiling, daily tasks, my workflow, and some gayming (130-270 fps minecraft super high settings, ~70 fps cs:go high settings), and I paid about $400 less for it than my old laptop which broke.

1. Not with an image, no. Mintty doesn't support images in terminal, unless you run an X server like Xming with Urxvt and w3mimgdisplay. Stick with ASCII shit, I guess.

Hey /odt/! I've been lurking for a while but I'm sorry if I manage to get it wrong anyway, this might be the wrong place. Sorry if so and for the retarded question.

I've been using this 3840x1080 resolution wallpaper for my dual-monitor setup for a while, and I'm a big fan of it. It just looks right with the dead split down the middle. Problem is I've been thinking about adding a third screen dedicated to temp and usage-% graphs. Only one I have on-hand is 1600x900. Is it possible to keep this look in Windows with a third, smaller screen? I'll imagine it would just stretch in a really ugly way on the third monitor. Any third-party program to prevent that? Couldn't find any mention of it in the OP or by googling, but I may just be stupid. Thanks in advance!

Well I can't speak for Gentoo having not tried it, but Arch might be a little too difficult for a beginner. I had CrunchBang and then Debian (so essentially the same thing) for a long time and just now got into Arch and I still found getting to the desktop state pretty difficult (even with a tutorial) considering you start from pretty much the ground up.

Sure. I came here from /g/ after they banned desktop threads. It's pretty okay here, and there's actually a few decent people. A bit windows-heavy, but I've been surprised that most of the windows ricing isn't total garbage. Some of it is even downright comfy. It was a pleasant surprise.
