I have mine set to shuffle once per day. So I get a different wallpaper ever day. When it's a particularly cool or comfy one, it feels sort've nice.

Because I have all my wallpapers on random rotation every 30 minutes. It's nice to always see new images.

I'm at 3.14 gig and 3,932 Files. Also got around 200 more at 250mb that I've made myself.
I don't know why I save them. Some of them I frequent, others are just pretty. It's always nice to have a selection to give to others too.

8K papes here. Simply because I like collecting art. Have my background set cycle out every 5 minutes, and my screen saver is set on slideshow. I love watching my papes cycle out and so on, it's beautiful.

Im at 1.673 pictures. I avticated diashow, and random function. Im hanging out with many people, so its funny to see how they react to some of the pictures. They are all hand picked, and mostly they deliever some good topics to talk about, or some other nice impressions. So they totally have a purpose. I'm a long time /wg/ goer and I keep a hefty cycle of hand-picked papes on constant ten minute random rotation. It's nice to often see something you really like but haven't seen in a long time. Also, sometimes when I'm bored I kill time by hitting "next desktop background" repeatedly.

Pic related is my main cycle folder. Ignore the creation date, I frequently make backups and it affects that date.

As to why I collect them: When I get a large picture frame, I plan on having the background change every day. First scenes, then minimal, then naked bitches bent over. Bachelor, so I can do that

for me, i've taken into the hobby of collecting wallpapers. they're free, and they're nice to look at from time to time. plus, it's like framed artwork you put around your house. they tell what kind of person you are, and can sometimes act as conversational topics.
