The autism is real. Tablets get posted all the time. From a 1080x1920 screenshot you have no way of knowing what device it is from. Timma used to post his tablet rice along with the phone. Anyone have his tablet images saved? One in particular was really nice. Wish I saved it.

Okay, here's my first real attempt at a decent theme.

Unfortunately, I'm terrible with KLWP so I don't know how to do all the cool stuff everyone else does...
So I've just modified some pre-made stuff.

Where can I find some good tutorials to do the neat KLWP stuff?

Pretty interesting rice, I'd make it so that the bottom stuff (music, time/date/etc) spreads over the full width of the screen so it looks a little less awkwardly placed, and vertically center the top content in the top bar, so that it's centered proper. Otherwise, pretty neat, nice wall.

As for lock screens, there's a hundred and one apps, you can pick and choose depending on which ones you like. Zui Locker is pretty basic, WidgetLocker is deprecated I think but adds more functionality (paired with Zooper or KWGT), there's apps like Next, Echo, ACDisplay, Go Locker, Hi Locker, etc.

It depends what functionalities you're looking for and what you're willing to sacrifice.

These are both interesting takes. Personally I think the first takes the blurred shapes to an excess, without the middle square it'd look fine. The icons are also just a bit too thin in my opinion.

The second feels less inspired, the black border detracts heavily from the rice itself, drop shadow feels dirty. But the idea of a gradient background like that is pretty interesting and I would like to see it developed more.

Don't, it's pretty cute. I'd normally advise to get rid of the navbar but in this instance, it works pretty well as a frame combined with the bottom buttons. The b/w theme is also refreshing, and your icon choice is great. 9/10 rice, I really can't complain about anything. It even has a qt wall. So don't feel bad about it, simplicity is usually pleasing to the eye and, though difficult to pull off, works well here.

Other anons pointed it out, red on green is gonna be painful. That font is also just a bit too much in my opinion. Everything about this rice is too harsh; the red is so bright, the green is so strong, and both are clashing with each other quite heavily. I'd adjust the colors and consider a different decorative font.

This is also pretty cute, with really nice colors. Font is nice too, though I have to admit the box being connected through the bottom but not the top is a little strange at first glance. Icons as well are a little confusing, as is the top bar on the bottom box. That aside, good font, good image, good colors.

I'd go with a different font, a more contrasting dark grey, and get rid of the text shadows. White border is a little jarring (on the top of the topmost grey box) and the music icons are a tad large, and the app icons take up relatively little room (could add a 3x3 grid, maybe?). Also, the battery label seems kind of superfluous but maybe that's just me. Cute idea though!

The point of the square is to add emphasis on the girl's features. As for the 2 other blurred shapes, I don't think it's too much. They are literally just there to help the clock/icons pop out more. Glyphs by tokem also suited the most with it instead of flat icons.

In klwp if you open the side menu you should see an option to export your config. If you do that it will save a .klwp file to your internal storage in the kustom folder and you can just upload that (although you'll have to link to it elsewhere because 4chan doesn't support it)

I get where you were are coming from, I just thought the middle square was a bit excessive (which is my own personal preference). You could edit the image in Gimp or PS or what have you to achieve the same effect (of adding emphasis to the girl's features) in a more subtle way, like through use of Gaussian blur, etc. But I digress. As for the icons, didn't realize you were using an icon set, which makes it harder to change. Yeah, I agree they are more suited than flat icons (which I assume is another pack), I just thought a slightly thicker set might work better. It's irrelevant since you're using icon packs anyways. Your rice is great, just thought I'd add feedback.

I can't argue that it's a lot less inspired, that's for sure. While I agree with your point about the drop shadow feeling dirty (might need to look into that), I feel that without the black border, there's too little distinction between the wallpaper and the gradient. I liked locker master as an alternative when widget locker died, but ditched it a few months back when an update changed a lot and I couldn't disable their swipe sidebar thing. Made it too hard to do my preferred left to right swipe unlock. Has it gotten any better? That update just sorta killed my buzz all over and I haven't found a good alternative yet.

My phone battery dropped 40% just looking at this.

I use my phone to listen to Pandora 7-9 hours (constant) per day and it's connected to a smartwatch and other bluetooth devices 24/7, and on top of that, yesterday I needed it for a constant stream of texts, calls and app use inbetween for 4 hours afterwards.

Between charges at 6am and 1030pm, the phone ended the day with 12% battery while running that lockscreen and KLWP.

I switched from iOS to a HTC 10 a few days ago, so I'm kinda new at ricing. I'm not doing that much ricing yet because I'm still waiting for CM 14, don't want to do everything again when it comes out. Looking at the ricing guide from /g/ and the pastebins here, I see UCCW mentioned more often than KLWP. So, what's the difference between these two? Do people use both of them at the same time?

At least use an icon pack? The full calendar with weather by swiping to the right is genius and frees a lot of space for the date and hour plus music player/battery widget (that little circle around the album cover is the battery right?) and your 4 apps of choice on the main screen, the japanese is also a nice detail, this rice would be perfect if it werent for that little detail.

The circle around the album cover is the current track progress. I've been thinking of a way to try and integrate battery percentage into the design and its proving quite difficult.
I've looked at a lot of icon packs, but the only ones that i've even somewhat liked the look have been so incomplete that they're basically useless.

Decided to mess around with icons, because it was too vanilla. Will integrate icons to the live wallpaper later.

New to KLWP, can anyone give me some pointers on simplistic media controls? I've got it set to display title/artist/progress and the basic previous/play-pause/next controls, and everything works. However, the information shifts around depending on the length of the song title when I put everything together inside a stack. When I remove the title/artist info from the stack, though, I can't figure out how to center it again. Is there a way to fix it into position, or at least truncate titles that go over a certain character length so that doesn't happen? Pic related.

Thanks! Icon pack is Shimu (though I made the browser icon). Battery is just from the material font as a font icon. I got it set to show the charging icon and turn green when charging, and remain white otherwise, though I might make it more complicated and show a draining battery icon if I can figure that out.
I fixed the music player too, seems like I nested things one stack too deep. The progress bar doesn't seem to refresh when a new song starts though, unless I pause/play, but then it starts from the beginning where I pause it instead of the beginning of the track, so I have to look into that as well. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

It's not the most elegant way but what I did was take the background and cut out the moon (so that it's transparent). Then I added that image as a foreground layer that is the same size as the background and animates on scroll so that it's not noticable. After that you just need to position a semi-transparent circle with album art fill under the foreground layer on top of the moon and you get a nice effect of the art overlaying on just the moon. I also added some fade animation on scroll and that sort of thing

The panel placement isn't too bad, but the layout of information on those panels is completely impractical and could be put to far better use. You don't need a huge panel who's only purpose is to show a single word when it could just as easily be displaying the date or time. They're Glyphs by tokem. Icon pack doesn't contain a dozen of icons but it still has a nice set for theming. I've disabled status bar but I can make it to appear again when I touch top edge of the screen. I'm on CM13 and I have root as well. Actualy you only need Nova and KLWP, UCCW is pretty much redundant/inferior with KLWP, but Gravitybox, Xposed, maybe KWGT are useful depending on what you want to do, like lockscreen ricing without downloading a custom lockscreen.

Okay so long press the screen away from them, NOT clicking on them. Press the pencil from the menu that pops up. Then click on the divider, press trashcan button. Then press on the page notifier, trash can again. Hope that helps! My fav launcher for sure.
