What does it mean when my model 1 Genesis is turning on, plays audio, but doesn't display video? What the hell should I do?
(I know you guys aren't retarded, but just to be sure, pic isn't my monitor)
It meansSega does what Nintendon't.
Over RF? Probably fucked. Over AV? Most likely a fucked up cable. Check how it behaves over RF for reference

It's AV, i'm going to try RF now

Plug in the yellow cable

Are you trying it on a modern TV?
I have a 4k TV and when I tried to play PS1 and N64 games I'd get no picture but would have sound.
I did some research and it turns out the resolution and refresh rate is so low on those consoles that new tvs can't process it anymore.

Do 4K TVs even have composite ports?
>>4238702
I'm not too sure from memory I think there might have been one.
I just plug my consoles into my home theater and run the output through HDMI to the TV.

>Insert input lag autism here
>>4238716
All of mine do
>>4238932
Hey it works with my later consoles like PS2 when I do it like that.
>>4238882
I have only owned a few AV receivers but I have a 100% failure rate with pre-PS2 consoles on them. Hell, my latest Onkyo barely works with the Wii over component.
LG TVs: Poor
Samsung TVs: Middling, support 240p at least
Toshiba TVs (The real japanese ones, not the hisense rebrands): Decent. Support even out of spec modded PAL consoles.

That might explain it for me at least, dont know about OP. I have a yamaha receiver and an LG 4K TV.
I still have a Sony 1080p TV and my old consoles work on that fine. It's just annoying since I want to play old games on my big TV sometimes.
