I don't think they own the rights anymore. Hence why the SNES version was removed from the Wii Virtual Console, nor is it on the SNES Classic.

When something rare is found, there is sure to be a know-it-all who has never handled a videogame prototype in his life ready to insist that it is an elaborate forgery, complete with a think piece about how easy it would be to make said forgery. Of course there have been forged prototypes over the years, but you'll be hardpressed to find a post using these confirmed forgeries as comparative evidence instead of just strings of pure speculation.
