So my speaker isn't working on my gameboy and I've found out it has to do with the headphone jack. Bottom line, I need a replacement jack but I can't find one. Does anyone know where I can buy one? Is it just easier to buy a "for parts" gameboy?

That has spring contacts instead of pins, good luck soldering it into a game boy.

You need a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack that's through hole and has a switch to cut off the speakers when headphones are plugged in. You might be able to get your speakers to stay on all the time just by bridging some contacts on the back of the jack.

You could look through a Google image search for surface mount headphone jacks until you find one that looks similar enough to yours and roll the dice, but I'd just go for a $10 as-is unit on eBay and save myself some soldering and headaches.

You can't find a a common part but you managed to diagnose that your problem is that part? Sounds legit. You might be able to buy one at your local electronics shop but it's probably easier to order 10 for a buck online.

A 5-pin, switched, through-hole jack with that specific pin layout that is also a case mount body is not even remotely a common thing. In fact I guarantee you will never find a matching replacement that isn't an overpriced part custom-made specifically for the DMG-01.

As long as we're asking questions here, The adhesive on my screen for my OG gameboy finally came off.
Anyone here know a good replacement adhesive, or should I just buy a replacement from Amazon?

Buy a replacement off amazon but don't get the Gtide one. It isn't properly sized right for the screen. I'll take a couple pictures in a second to show you.

Yellow: battery hole is off center
Red: part of the yellow display is visible (it isn't deadlines I soldered the connections to get rid of the deadlines it had)

Blue: overlaps the screen (but I never had to open a gameboy before so I dont know if its suppose to)
I had the same problem with my GBC, just using some isopropanol to clean up the motherboard fixed that and Start/Select not working.
Slightly off-topic but, when dumping GB carts, all the checksums of the ROM line up perfectly with ROMs online, but this doesn't happen when I try to dump Pokemon Crystal, and I've tried to clean the pins and everything. Is it fucked?

I have one in the original box unopened if you want to buy it.

that circuit board on a thumbnail looks like Zelda

I've never played crystal but doesn't it have a clock in it? It might be from the time difference of the game. I'm not an expert in GB Rom dumping though.

There were two versions of USA Crystal, did you check against both?
If it doesn't match either one, does it run in an emulator? If so, I'd pull out the ol' hex editor and see how many bytes differ from the release ROMS.
